Balsamic Mustard Green Beans - Cooked with Garlic

Instructions

  1. Once ingredients are prepped, heat 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil in a large pan with a lid. Once the oil is heated, add green beans and stir to evenly coat the pan.

  2. Lower the heat under your pan to low and cover with a lid. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

    • To tell if the green beans have enough (but not too much) you can pick one up with a utensil, and bend it against the pan. It should allow for a slight bend, but still be firm enough that it would snap if folded in half.

  3. Now that the green beans are partially cooked, add minced garlic to your pan. Stir garlic to evenly distribute throughout the green beans, and let cook over low-medium heat for about 30 seconds- 1 minute. The garlic should begin to smell aromatic, but not begin to brown.

  4. After the garlic has been simmered with the green beans, pour in prepared balsamic vinegar and spicy brown mustard sauce and stir to evenly coat. Simmer uncovered for 2-3 minutes, string frequently to prevent the sauce from burning.

    • The sauce should begin to bubble and thicken and will add a nice sear to the green beans as it cooks. If you find that your sauce has begun to become too thick, add 1 Tablesoon of water at a time to get your desired consistency.

  5. Once the sauce has thickened and the green beans are cooked completely through, they are ready to be served!
