Mise en Place | Everything in Its Place

The key to success when in the kitchen is being prepared. If you often find yourself stressing while cooking, mise en place is something you should definitely try! Having ingredients premeasured, veggies chopped, and tools collected will make a dramatic improvement in your cooking experience.

Tools Needed

  • 1 Cutting Board and Chefs Knife

  • 1 Non-Stick Muffin Tin

  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl and Large Mixing Spoon

  • 1 Small Sauce Pot OR Saute Pan

  • Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoons

  • Cooking Spray (Optional)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - Salted Butter (1/2 Stick)

  • 1/2 Tablespoon - Garlic, Minced

  • 2 Tablespoons - Fresh Parsley, Finely Chopped

  • 1/4 Cup - Grated Parmesan Cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon - Kosher Salt

  • 1 Can - Pillsbury Grands, Butter Biscuit Dough

Ingredient Prep

Luckily for this recipe, there is almost no prep needed!

  2. Finely chop fresh parsley (again, you can buy pre-chopped for convenience.)

  3. Gather the remaining ingredients to save time and stress while creating the recipe.

Directions

  1. First, preheat your oven to 350Β°F.

  2. Prepare your muffin tin by greasing it with cooking spray, or softening butter depending on what you already have available. Place the prepared muffin tin to the side until needed.

  3. Put your small saute pan OR small sauce pot on the stove over low heat. Melt salted butter while stirring frequently to prevent burning.

  4. Once butter is melted and bubbling, add in minced garlic and chopped parsley, and stir for about 30 seconds, until the garlic has become aromatic. Turn off the heat under the pan and set it to the side to let cool while we complete the rest of the tasks.

  5. Get out your cutting board and knife. Unroll the Pillsbury Butter Biscuit Dough and cut each biscuit into 4 equal-sized pieces. Place cut pieces in your large bowl mixing bowl.

  6. Add butter and garlic mixture to the biscuit dough, along with the parmesan cheese and salt. Gently mix to evenly coat biscuit pieces either with a large mixing spoon, or your hands.

  7. Take 3 pieces of dough and add to each muffin cup. Press down slightly on the dough so that the pieces stick together while expanding in the oven.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the popovers are golden brown and puffy.

  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
